UK: The UK, the Crown Dependencies and the English courts

The Supreme Court gave judgment today in R (on the application of Barclay and another) v Secretary of State for Justice and the Lord Chancellor and others [2014] UKSC 54: see here or here (pdf). This is an interesting and important decision which explores the relationship between the United Kingdom, and the English courts (including the UK Supreme Court), with the Crown Dependencies (and, in particular, the legislative process of the island of Sark, part of the Crown Dependency of the Bailiwick of Guernsey).
